Imagine the textures we experience day by day.
Sensory textures that are both physical and non-physical.
As most of us realize, texture comes into light when it is used towards an artistic purpose.
Utilized as a technique and to piece together art and design into something more complete.
Texture in Turn is a focus on both simple and complex textures.
Isolate a texture.
Enhance that very texture.
Manipulate the texture with basic motion and light.
Does the texture become a new texture?
Or is the texture the same as it was before?
I like to compare the idea of Texture in Turn to the concept of fractals.
Fractals are patterns within infinite patterns.
Like fractals, texture has texture within the texture.
I know this sounds a bit dumb.
Although mathematically, textures are not symmetric and consistent as fractals.
But the idea is that the textural properties within a texture can be broken down.
These properties, like patterns within fractals,
Make a texture “whole”.
