For the viewer, I want them to be in a constant state of wonder and, feel like there is somewhat a withholding/obscuring of linear and clear story in the broken-up/abstract narratives/worlds in construction. This is because I am more interested in the visualization of seeking/longing for permanent refuge as a world with recurring subjects instead of the idea to be explained rationally. I’m fixated on exploring broken homes, the child in an environment, melancholic nostalgia, the uncanniness of repetition in an environment, etc.. I also engage with the viewer through mimicry and repetition. The “childlike” and “playful” entities/subjects/aesthetics in my practice certainly operate as symbolic vessels for those many ideas of my interest. THE END.
