“Incubating” is an experimental short film which observes a strange creature within its isolated world.
The footage was shot briefly before the coronavirus arrived, actively displacing artists from themselves and each other, and was revisited for editing much further into quarantine. The film poses as an exploration into the reflections and observations experienced during the pandemic from the perspective of a lonely, hauntingly comforting universe. It plays with the use of textures including clay and fog, and raw forms to create an alien-esque being. The creature explores touch, the process of shedding, incubation, and finally rebirth.
