All of the artworks within the installation were created in a dialogue with each other and with a specified system in mind, a system that I created for this installation. Creating the system emphasizes my interest in world-building and what that means, to create a world. I’m interested in the idea of how things are affected by their context, how everything around us carries a backstory and has derived from something else, meaning: something cant come out of nothing. I challenge the idea of categorization of mediums where I show a painting that could be thought of as a sculpture, a sculpture that could be thought of as a creature, light that could be thought of as an object, photographs that could be thought of as digital prints and so on.
