This sculptural installation work will have an accompanying essay relating it to the often fraught relationship between the body and technology, as seen through the lens of my own experience as a patient in an experimental surgical clinical trial.
As part of the installation, there will be a large, aluminum, wall-hung sculpture, 3 paintings, a handmade floor light work and some small bioplastic and resin sculptures, displayed on the floor. As all of this work is in currently being made, the images I have included are all works in progress or digital sketches. Images 1 & 2 show parts of the aluminum installation, made with aluminum mesh and melted aluminum, image 3 is a digital sketch with inset images of the installation components, image 4 depicts the specialized, rare monochromatic lightbulb which will illuminate the sculptural floor lamp, image 5 is a photo of the initial ink sketches for the work, and image 6 depicts the initial stages of 2 of the 3 total paintings to be included.
